MDC Matebeleland South Province Press Statement
As Matebeleland South Province we are not moved by the politically motivated High court ruling concerning our party and it's leadership.
As a Province, we are behind our President Adv. Nelson Chamisa and the entire party leadership and we know our leaders were appointed according to the party statutes and it is worrying that Zanu PF wants to interfere in selection of MDC leaders using it's proxies.
As a province we are not going to allow that and shall defend our president with all the tools at our disposal.
The High court or ZanuPF cannot choose Leaders for our party. MDC members are the ones who choose their leaders using it's internal democracy.
We remain solidly behind our President and the entire leadership including those who have just been nominated by provinces.
We are currently seized with preparations for the Congress which is due on the 24th of May.
We are more than ready and keen to elect the new leadership under our able President, Adv. Chamisa.
No amount of intimidation and harassment shall stop the MDC train which is already in motion.
As a party, we shall be Defining a New Course for Zimbabwe.
