Mthwakazi Republic Party leader Mqondisi Moyo has said following the MDC Alliance launch which was highly boycotted by Matabeleland members of the parties, it shows that people in the region can no longer be taken for granted.
"Mthwakazi people have spoken, the time is now. The much awaited MDC alliance launch which was highly spoken about took place at white city stadium on Saturday the 2nd of September and has shown that Mthwakazi people can no longer be taken for a ride by these satanic Harare parties," he said.
"Our people have been abused by these parties since the formation of MDC in 2000. We all know that Mthwakazi has been the bedrock of MDC as an opposition party with the hope that MDC was a genuine party and not a replica of ZANU PF. Mthwakazi people were to learn things the hard way after MDC reflected its true colours that they were not different from ZANU PF their mentor mother."
He said the attendance at white city stadium on Saturday clearly indicates that our people can no longer be duped by these greedy and selfish politicians who are motivated by donor funding at the expense of the suffering Mthwakazi people.
"MDC as an opposition has been relying much on the protest vote by Mthwakazi people as we all know that Mthwakazi has a clean record of not voting ZANU PF since 1980 and even during 1985 when our people were being maimed, raped, tortured and butchered by the ruthless ZANU PF government. Our people stood with their party which stood for their aspirations then," Moyo said.
"People of Mthwakazi transferred their trust from ZAPU to MDC in 1999-2000 not realising that MDC was already a failed project like ZANU PF of 1963 which never had the will and the aspirations of the people at heart. As a party, we are happy that the alliance is for MDC people hence it is called MDC alliance. Welshman Ncube, Morgan Tsvangirai and Tendai Biti haven't told people what caused them to split in 2005 and 2014 respectively."
He said it is clear that these so called leaders are taking people for granted.
"The 2005 split had a lot of casualties were a lot of people especially Mthwakazi people got injured in those scuffles at Harvest House in Harare but it is not these three leaders who became the casualties and it was just innocent followers as it is said when two elephants fight it is the grass that suffers the most. We are happy as a people's party that we came at the right time to stand as the bridge for the people of Mthwakazi," he said.
