Preparations for the Zanu-PF District Coordination Committee (DCC) elections in Matabeleland South Province are at an advanced stage following a massive restructuring exercise in all the seven districts.

Speaking at a Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Gwanda, the Provincial Chairman, Andrew Langa said the party's Politburo led teams are expected in the province next month to undertake a verification exercise before DCC elections are held between the 12th and 14th  of the same month.

Langa expressed satisfaction with the party structures in the province, saying the cells, branches and districts are vibrant.

He said there are however a few areas which the provincial executives need to work on.

Langa said after DDC elections, Zanu-PF will embark on a massive mobilisation exercise ahead of harmonised elections expected this year.

Meanwhile, Langa also briefed the leaders on the Joint Monitoring and Implementation Committee (JOMIC)'s existence in the province as well as its roles and activities.

Langa is one of the Provincial co-Chairpersons of JOMIC.

Meanwhile, Zanu-PF National Political Commissar, Webster Shamu, who was in Bulawayo to meet the party leadership following the passing of a vote of no confidence on the Provincial Chairman, Isaac Dakamela, says he had an informative interaction which creates the basis of a way forward.

Briefing journalists at the end of a day-long closed door meeting, Shamu said he managed to compile details of issues that led to Dakamela's vote of no confidence and will take them to Harare for further deliberations after which a way forward will be found.
