A Zanu-PF youth who had been summoned to testify in a theft and assault case involving two men stunned officials at the Gweru Magistrates' Court last Friday when he entered the witness gallery clad in his party regalia.

Bernard Bhowa entered the Gweru magistrates court dressed in a knee-cut yellow overall bearing President Robert Mugabe's signature, in violation of the dress code expected at court.

A surprised Gweru magistrate Primrose Nyika asked Bhowa if he had come for a performance, to which he answered in the affirmative and later apologised that he had not heard the question properly.

"Have you come for a circus?" asked Nyika before warning and allowing Bhowa to testify. She asked him to leave the courtroom soon after his testimony.

Bhowa had come as a State witness in a case involving Kelab Msipa and Jephias Marata who were being accused of assaulting Lymon Moyo over a girlfriend and stealing $200 from him.

The alleged incident occurred at a city night-club last November.
