Undecided Wellington Nare back with MDC!!

The former Matebeleland South MDC youth treasurer who recently resigned from the party defecting to the MDC T amidst lots of publicity has dumped the Morgan Tsvangirai led party and gone back to the Welshman Ncube led party.

The Gwanda Central Youth Chairman Simbarashe Tasaranaro confirmed that Nare has since returned to the party and accepted back into the Gwanda Central District youth assemble.

"Welly is our son, we groomed him and understand that he was upset when he made the decision and we welcome him back and appreciate that he realised his mistake quickly" said Tasaranaro.

Asked if Nare would still retain his position as Provincial Youth Treasurer, Tasaranaro indicated that constitutionally Nare is now a new member of the party and so has to rejoin the party as such there by relinquishing his position in the provincial executive.

"He lost his position automatically upon defecting to the MDC T and his actions have also reduced our trust in him for a senior position for a while until we are satisfied with him" said the youth chairman.

Nare defected from the MDC a few weeks ago citing ideological challenges in the party and in particular the issue of bringing in party Secretary General Priscilla Mushoga from Harare to stand in Matebeleland South as being against the party's devolution of power principle. Asked on this, Tasaranaro indicated that Nare realised that the MDC T had worse ideological problems than he thought.

"He realised quickly that the MDC T had worse ideological problems than the MDC in as far as running the party was concerned and so returned quickly to the right or better party."

Efforts to get comment from Nare proved fruitless as his phone was out of reach the entire weekend. MDC T youth executive member in Gwanda Lindiwe Maphosa was also not reachable for a comment as her mobile phone went unanswered.
