Welshman Ncube led MDC has escalated its firing spree of rebellious members with firebrand Charles Mpofu been the latest casualty.
Mpofu was kicked on Thursday. Bulawayo provincial spokesperson, Edwin Ndlovu revealed this morning.
"We have expelled Charles Mpofu from the party. We wrote him a letter yesterday (Thursday) informing him of the party decision" said Ndlovu without elaborating.
MDC has been expelling and suspending members in recent weeks.
Mpofu was critical of secretary general Priscilla Misihairabwi Mushonga's appointment as Umzingwane parliamentarian under the women quota system.
Matabeleland South chairman Petros Mukwena was also expelled in October.
Last week Ndlovu warned that the party will suspend more members for gross indiscipline and a general failure to conform to the party's outlined principles.
He warned some members whom he said were going around insulting the leadership and dragging the name of the party into disrepute, particularly through the press, saying they faced disciplinary action.
Already two Pumula District leaders in Bulawayo were last week suspended.
