A 27-YEAR-OLD Victoria Falls man was fined $100 for accusing his blind mother of bewitching him and killing his late brother.

Richard Mpofu of Chinotimba high-density suburb was convicted on his own plea of guilty by Victoria Falls resident magistrate Sharon Rosemani of Contravening Section 99 of the (Criminal Law and Codification) Act, Chapter 9:23.

Mpofu admitted to insulting his blind mother and was fined $100 in default of which he would be thrown into prison for two months.

Prosecutor Takunda Ndovorwi stated that on February 13, Mpofu's mother Kesy Ndlovu (61) was in her bedroom when he violently opened the door and started insulting her saying she was a witch and had goblins that were causing him sleepless nights.

Mpofu further accused his mother of causing the death of his brother Mlamuli Mpofu, who died suddenly at the family home while exercising.

He accused his mother of feeding her goblins using Mlamuli's blood.

Ndlovu went out of the house crying and another son took her to report the matter to the police.
