Zanu-PF Matebeleland North Province has begun conducting inter-district meetings aimed at providing a platform to thank the people for supporting the revolutionary party during the July 31st 2013 harmonised elections.

The meetings will be held in all the seven districts in the province and are an initiative of the provincial executive.

They will also follow up on the formation of cells so as to confirm if they have been submitted to the relevant department where they will receive proper guidance.

Delivering the key note address at the inaugural meeting held in Hwange, a member of the Zanu-PF Politburo, Thokozile Mathuthu, narrated the stages of economic and political difficulties that the country has gone through since the imposition of illegal sanctions by the West and urged party members to focus on the ZimAsset blue print which will turn around the fortunes of the country.

Zanu-PF Provincial Commissar Martin Khumalo said the provincial executive has come up with an initiative that will see companies and churches introducing party branches to provide people with a platform to discuss issues of common interest which will contribute towards the development of the country.

The meeting also encouraged the leadership to explain ZimAsset to lower structures of the party so that they adhere to it as well as mobilise for National Commissariat the "Thank the People Rally" to be addressed by President Robert Mugabe at a future date.
