Esigodini, Filabusi towns experience blackout

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company a subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (Zesa) has announced that it will switch off electricity at Esigodini and Filabusi areas so as to enable essential maintenance work to take place.
The electricity disruption in the areas which are well known for mining and farming activities will certainly affect the activities.
In a notice, the company's Western Region General Manager Lovemore Chinaka announced that it will interrupt power on the mentioned areas on April 15 and 16 from 6am to 6pm.
"In order to carry out essential maintenance work on the Esigodini and Filabusi 88KV lines, clients in the areas mentioned below are advised that their electricity supplies will be interrupted on Wednesday 15 April and Thursday 16 April from 6am to 6pm," reads the notice.
"The whole of Esigodini, Fort Rixon, Bulawayo City Council Pump Station and surrounding area, the whole of Filabusi and surrounding areas. As supplies may be restored earlier that stated, clients are therefore advised to treat their installations as live at all times."
