Rapist intrudes into children's room at night, rapes girl (12)

A man from Lupanda area in Lupane sneaked into the room where a 12 year old girl was sleeping with her siblings and raped her while their parents were not at home during the night.
This was heard by Hwange Regional Court magistrate Dambudzai Malunga when Celani Ndlovu (19) appeared before the court charged with rape.
The magistrate sentenced him to 8 years in jail.
The prosecutor Bheki Tshabalala told the court that on August 1 2015 the girl was left at home with her siblings aged 10 and 2 years while their mother went for church service at an nearby plot.
At 10pm Ndlovu entered into their bedroom hut while they were asleep and sneaked into their blankets close to the 12 year old girl. He later raped her and threatened to assault her if she made any noise. The girl has to later report the rape to her headmistress at school and a report made to the police led to Ndlovu's arrest.
