Julius Malema: The Truth beyond the speech
25 Jan 2017 at 05:26hrs | Views
The tragedy of African politics is that some people oppose for the sake of just opposing. their political eyes have been programmed not to see the sense beyond the speech.
I have always said it that I prefer being an activist than being a politician. this is because an activist has no fixed and permanent ideology. An activist stand for what he thinks is right at that time.
Now Julius Malema says my beloved President is too old and should now retire from active politics in order to preserve and protect his legacy as an African Revolutionary who led the greatest initiative (Land Reform) in our lifetime. Julius also labels Zanu PF politicians cowards who continue endorsing my President despite the fact the Uncle Bob is no longer as sharp as he was 37 years ago.
Ironically there is a stampede of responses from Zanu PF politicians and journalists attacking Malema left, right and center. Its unfortunate that most of them are not intelligent enough to see that they have actually certified and dignified Malema's attack on them. Not even any one of them comes up with a concrete argument to support the continued leadership of my President at his advanced age. Instead they all rush to label Malema all sort of names without necessarily looking at the truth beyond the speech
If truth be told. President Robert Mugabe has played his part. His legacy will be celebrated by generation and generations to come. However the nation needs to move on, a new revolution has emerged, the time has arrived for economic prosperity, democracy and good governance and surely we can no longer continue burdening uncle Bob with the responsibility of leading this revolution. He too should be allowed to rest and also celebrate his legacy and feel how beautiful it is to be an ordinary black citizen in an independent Zimbabwe.
I rest my case
