Zimbabwe's First Lady a humanitarian person
01 Mar 2019 at 07:56hrs | Views
Auxillia Mnangagwa the fourth first lady in Zimbabwe was born on the 25th March 1963. She precedes Mrs Banana. mrs Sally Mugabe. Mrs Grace Mugabe She is a second born in a family of 5. She grew up in very humble settings in a farm in Chiweshe were she underwent her primary education and secondary education.
Auxillia understands the culture and the roles of the girl child and women at large. She went through the natural education of humility thus her humbleness is clearly visible in any unsaid situations. Auxillia got involved in politics as early as 1982. She was 21. She went through all stages and rose through the ranks and she made it to the politburo.
She showed her tenacity while giving her all to politics she embarked on Tertiary education. She took studies in the Environment and Tourism department at the University of Zimbabwe. She then left for Switzerland two years later, graduating in Hotel and Tourism Administration in 2001.
She excelled in both politics as a Zimbabwean politician and has served as the First Lady of Zimbabwe since November 2017, as the wife of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
She had worked over at the Ministry of Manpower and Development, for over ten years. She then joined the Prime Minister's office in 1992 which was later transformed to President's office. She was elected as a Zanu-PF Member of Parliament in 2015, serving for the same constituency as her husband after he became Vice-President under Robert Mugabe.
She showed the utmost zeal to serve the people and make women's lives better. She is a person who gives back to the community. Auxillia Set up a number of women's banks in Silobela, Zhombe, Kwekwe and Chirumanzu-Zibagwe. She never claimed ownership of her good work. She sacrificed for the best interest of the party and communities. Contrary to what people said Auxillia was not and is not a tribalist. She did not open banks in Chiweshe or any place she grew up. She developed any area which was near her. The first lady has lived a life above nepotism. She is rightfully called the Right Honourable Auxillia Mnangagwa MP.
As we have indicated she assumed the office of the First Lady of Zimbabwe. She is a fourth first lady in Zimbabwe and therefore she is not overwhelmed by power. She is stable right minded loving and understanding.
In the office of the first lady Honourable Auxilia Munangagwa took over after a circus ridden Mrs Grace Mugabe. Auxillia charmed the nation by her humility and a listening. The first lady comes from Mazowe District, Mashonaland Central, She rubbed shoulders with powerful people and as of now she is married to the most powerful man in Zimbabwe.
She is a proud member of ZANU-PF. She is the mother of Three children but in her motherly instincts she looked after many children. Auxillia has been involved in many campaigns to try and end early childhood marriages. She was a member of the Pan African Parliament before resigning to focus of her philanthropic work.
The history of the first lady speaks for itself. It is therefore not true that she could be a person who abuses workers or interfere in government business. The State house is under the Office of the president and Cabinet. This is completely different from the President's office. So it is not correct that every person who works at State house is an officer. The behaviour if the first lady as shown in several online papers and social media is not the true reflection of who Auxillia is.
It is meant to embarrass the president and his family. It is common sense that when a new tenant comes into occupancy of the property he designs it to his or her specification. When the former first lady came onto Zvimba she ordered that a nee house be built and the old house which was for Sally be discarded. This was a normal reaction humanity shows when they take charge.
When Auxillia moved into state house a lot of changes were made. A lot of people were moved. For her own peace of mind she had to request changes in the employees. It wAs normal to do so. A number of workers were affected. Obviously they are not happy. They have lost their source of income. One should remember that Auxillia came in with her workers as well so a place for them had to be created. This move is called adjustment.
As for nepotism the first lady had developed and impacted on the lives of women all over. Banks were opened and she started a Charitable organisation which deals with welfare of Children. All these projects were never done in home area. If she was a tribalist the state house will be in Mt Darwin now.
People have different perspectives on people. Judgements are pronounced by people on our characters. What is needed is a closer interaction with the first lady and your opinion of her will change. The most important issue is the first lady was a politician first before she was a first lady. Politicians have two sides and people are at liberty to chose the side which fits their aspirations. The human resources issues at state house is not the work of the first lady. Her temperamental attitude cannot be diagnosed by the press.
Judging from what she has done so far the first lady is far from a bedroom politician. She earned and gained her political space without men's power. She deserves our respect and indeed she should be honoured.
Zimbabwe has a culture of motherhood this flows naturally in the first lady's blood. She should not be tainted by the few disgruntled people.
The changes in offices must reflect the change in occupancy. She should be allowed to adjust were she spends most of her time to her comfort.
