'We sat for 5 years in GNU, ate and did nothing!' admitted Chamisa - from horse's mouth, finally believe it

MDC leaders sold-out during the GNU by failing to implement even one meaningful reform. If I have said that once, I have said it a million times and a million times again. To those millions of doubting Thomas who would not believe me, now you can believe it from the horse's own mouth.
"The opposition MDC went into the Government of National Unity (GNU) between 2009-2013 without a plan and failed to utilise the opportunity, new party leader Nelson Chamisa has admitted," reported New Zimbabwe.
"While the MDC has consistently claimed glory for stabilising the economy, after then party leader Morgan Tsvangirai joined arch-foe and ex-President Robert Mugabe following inconclusive elections in 2008, Chamisa said the opposition went into government "sat and ate."
"Chamisa was speaking at the launch of the opposition's latest policy blue-print titled Return to Economic Recovery, Legitimacy, Openness and Democracy (RELOAD) in Harare vowing never to repeat the same mistake.
"We got in the inclusive government and just sat there, spent five years in there. We came out without doing anything.
"We will not do that, dialogue must have timelines that are very clear, the international community must tick us, mark us on the boxes," said Chamisa.
To the naïve and gullible who would want to believe Chamisa; please ask yourselves how many times MDC officials have said there would be no elections without reforms!
"(President) Mnangagwa wants to get into office through the window abusing conditions for elections. That's why I told him that I will not accept what they used to do to Tsvangirai who was robbed with his eyes open. As long as we don't agree on the issue of ballot paper, the election will not be done," said Mr Chamisa in June 2018, for example.
"We will push until it's done. What I am saying is as long as we have not agreed on who prints the ballot paper, where it will be printed and how the security around the ballot paper will be like, there will be no election in Zimbabwe."
Zanu PF rigged last year's elections, it is illegitimate and MDC's RELOAD plan is only meant to give Zanu PF legitimacy by the back door whilst giving MDC the chance to get back on the gravy train so they can continue to "sit and eat" from where they left off at the end of the last GNU.
If we are serious about getting the democratic reforms implemented, finally, then we must get an independent body to implement them. Zanu PF has to step down to create the political space for the independent body. This is the only viable way forward!
