MDC-SA urges all Zimbabweans in SA to go & vote

22 Jul 2013 at 08:19hrs | Views
The MDC SA would like to continue to encourage all Zimbabweans in South Africa to go to Zimbabwe and vote in the forthcoming elections.

If ever the was a time when our country needed us, this is the time.

We have enough incentive to make the journey. As a collective we have gone through an incredible amount of suffering both in Zimbabwe and in South Africa. We lost our dignity; we were reduced to a laughing stock. Xenophobia, deportations, bribery bordering on extortion by the police, we have seen it all.

We crossed by any means possible into South Africa, lives were lost during those crossings. The treatment we received at official border posts was like rubbing salt into fresh wounds.  There are too many Zimbabweans with professional qualifications who work in jobs that have little or anything to do with the credentials they have on paper.

We have so much to look forward to, the MDC has shown that is has a plan for a new Zimbabwe and it is a good plan. The hundreds of thousands that have attended the rallies addressed by the leadership of the Party in Zimbabwe have sent a message that is loud and clear. The time for change is now, we cannot wait any longer for the country to take a completely new direction.

Our votes will give the MDC the mandate to deliver on its promise of a better tomorrow. Let us give Morgan Richard Tsvangirai the platform to return Zimbabwe to its former glory and beyond.

Let us all participate in this election, it hardly needs any saying but our future is at stake.
