Fallacy of internal Zanu-PF Revolt

30 Oct 2014 at 11:14hrs | Views

The figments of private press's imagination that a revolt is imminent in ZANU PF reflect on the levels of desperation they have reached in their quest for a political revolution in Zimbabwe.

Whenever a political whirlwind brushes the ranks of ZANU PF, like a Greek bird Phoenix, the revolutionary party is reborn and emerges stronger than ever. To those with a progressive political mindset, this marks the point of departure between ZANU PF and other political parties.

The revolutionary party is politically mature to incur a fissure. The MDC has had splinters and several break away episodes which have culminated in it bearing numerous suffix letters that follow their acronym MDC.

The imperialists and their intelligence machinations have dismally failed to subvert the ZANU PF government over the years like they did in the region over. To then think of a possible in house fighting tearing apart the party, only sums up to a fallacy.

A tendency of miscalculating political influence did cost giant political players of their relevance thereby setting the precedence that life out of ZANU PF is traumatic. Dumiso Dabengwa the "black Russian", Simba Makoni and ultimately Morgan Tsvangirai is in a better position to deliver an informed tutorial on this subject.

It is of paramount importance to note that no one is bigger than party in ZANU PF. The afore-mentioned names categorically fell into the political dustbins unceremoniously. It is dark outside ZANU PF circles. A non biased approach to the history of this land will provide an insight on why those in ZANU PF are left in the cold when they sway.

The revolutionary party was born of blood, struggle and life sacrifices. No one under the sun can manufacture blood or life. These are no man made resources hence the explanation that it is difficult to buy inn, a fissure into ZANU PF.

On the contrary Zimbabwe's opposition political parties are anchored on manmade material aspirations. The anomalies sighted in their political motivation are self born in a bid to discredit the ZANU PF government. Thanks to President Mugabe who invested in the nation's education establishment. Zimbabwean citizens heard, saw and read sanctions being called unto this land by unscrupulous and self conceited opposition politician.
The membership of ZANU PF is however, acquainted with the founding principles of the revolutionary party and sacred understanding of the suffering and sacrifices made to give birth to Zimbabwe. The leadership is equally moulded with the spirit of never swaying from what they believe in, taught by their predecessors of the First Chimurenga and experience with the imperialists.

The allegiance of the esteemed Generals was once put to test, when the overzealous and teenager like Job Sikhala dismally failed to bribe  Air Marshal Perence Shiri to support Morgan Tsvangirai. It is next to impossible to imagine ZANU PF being destroyed from the inside.

To then think of President Mugabe panic jumping into the middle of the alleged factional squabbles will be testimonial of the failure to appreciate what the party is made of and quality of leaders running the show.
Just to give the devil his dues, the Daily News of 27 October 2014 reported that the President has not chosen a side as yet in the ongoing factional misunderstandings. Wait, a quick interjection, this is the charisma they talk about when President Mugabe is mentioned. I can imagine if it were Morgan Tsvangirai. I am sure we would have seen him demeaning his stature by participating in grassroots politics of restructuring the party and strategically positioning his lieutenants ahead of the December congress.

The lessons from ZANU PF go on and on but they fall on the deaf ears of nothing less than power hungry opposition political parties. They harped and touted on the much publicised ZANU PF Politburo meeting which turned out to be a dumb squirrel.

One would have been compelled to think they will witness a similar episode which saw Tendai Biti and Morgan Tsvangirai falling out. It is my humble opinion that such delusions can never see the sunrise.
If I just dismiss the revolt without giving a piece of advice, I would have brought injustice to the case by error of omission. A look at the developed world, the white man's politics is as such: they may differ in ideology but have a consistent and undying patriotism for their land. The US Patriotic Act of October 26 2001 is testimonial to this effect.

Not in modern politics have I come across a western country calling for foreign intervention in its domestic affairs. Goodwill for Africans should not be coupled by the peddling of despondence in the region. The unjustified sanctions and flooding it with firearms benefit nothing and defy the logic of trying to civilize the so called "Dark Continent".

As the detractors of the Zimbabwean government look in anticipation of things falling apart, it is prudent to remind them that "Dzimbabwe" is literary translated house made of stones. It will take natural force to break it.
