Let's exorcise Zimbabwe of corruption now!

02 Dec 2014 at 17:59hrs | Views
The current moments of amazing revelations are so refreshing to the generality of Zimbabweans. This is a unique era in the history of this country. The most critical aspect is that, corrupt public officials are being exposed for us all to see.

These massive corruption expositions must be accompanied with thorough investigations leveled against the named officials to permit justice to take precedence. This is the opportune time to weed out the root-cause of corruption in our society which has been threatening to tear apart the national fabric.

It is quite frustrating to read the newspaper on a daily basis that, this minister and that are implicated in this shoddy deal and that. The continuity of corrupt trend is the only way we are assured of destroying Zimbabwe if ever no appropriate stern corrective measures are taken. Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Unit and all suitable state institutions should be activated to look into all allegations as a matter of urgency to authenticate their validity.

Zimbabwe should be exorcised of all demonic corrupt leaders that are poised on devastating our nation state.

Dealing with corruption now, as our top priority, is the only sure way of restoring and re-boosting investor confidence, in view of the fact that Zimbabwe has been branded a corrupt-ridden country on the international landscape.

It is high time those cited, ministers like Munacho Mutezo, Dzikamai Mavhaire and Nicolas Goche among others, be investigated, and establish the gravity of the allegations they are facing to enable justice to take toll, or that they should be cleared of any wrong doing if ever there is no incriminating evidence.

It's quite prudent that the state should intensify the hunt for corrupt elements in Government and the corporate sector to restore economic sanity which is a pre-requisite for national development. No foreign investor is willing to deploy capital in a corrupt environment. Therefore, this is a stern measure towards good corporate governance.

At the moment, potential investors are watching from afar checking how this corruption bedeviling the nation would be dealt with. Our willingness to fight corruption will rekindle our national aspirations on development and stabilization of the economy.

I feel it is every Zimbabwean's responsibility to participate actively by supplying information which exposes corruption to authorities so that appropriate action can be taken timeously before we sink into the mud. The state should open toll-free numbers so that the public can furnish all the necessary information, and relevant evidence which would help to nail all the corrupt figures in all facets of the national economy.

The best political-will should drive this process to resolve the corruption problem once and for all!
