9:17pm, Mar 9 - +263 7* *** ****: Dear Editor, thank you for giving me platform to register my concerns. I have been a Telecel subscriber for the past two years. I have noticed that whenever I try to send an SMS using my Telecel number and the message is not delivered the Telecel system deducts money from account. I do not get my monetary refund. I have tried raising this issue with Telecel everytime my messages don't get delivered for the last two years and they always promise to look into the issue and refund my money but up to now nothing has happened. Are we supposed to be paying Telecel for services not delivered? Is that how they make money by swindling their clients? Its high time POTRAZ acted on such unethical behaviour by these mobile network operators. After all we here that Telecel has never paid an operating licence since its inception. Where do they put the money they loot from their subscribers? No wonder why their shareholders are confused and heckling each other in public and taking each other to court over the money they loot from their clients.
On another note these network mobile operators should stop sending SMSs to their clients which ask the clients to load up airtime and receive questions in the form of SMSs and answer them and win some fancy prizes. This is subliminal advertising which is illegal. In some countries one doesn't get such enticing messages to encourage one to load up airtime and win some fancy prizes. Prizes are won by normal usage of airtime and not by encouragement by these network operators to buy airtime and answer some questions in the form of SMSs and win some fancy prizes. POTRAZ again should act on these mobile network operators to prevent them from carrying out these subliminal advertisements. Prizes must be given out by virtue of normal usage of airtime.
