A Mission to Rebuild a Reboot ZANU PF's Economy
01 Jul 2016 at 06:59hrs | Views
For thirty-six years a single fact has remained true; that the evil ZANU PF government has created a two prong economy in Zimbabwe. While the national economy is on its knees, the government's own private economy is booming. Ordinary Zimbabweans have been left bonded to bond notes, whereas members of the government and their families have been allowed to pocket tax revenues from the mining sector amounting to over 15 billion US dollars. Evidence of this can be seen in their unexplained overnight business success masquerading as indigenous empowerment, which could only have been achieved through ZANU PF's constitutional corruption. This has been built on the broken bones and spilt blood of the Zimbabwean people.
As if this were not enough, the cancerous Zimbabwean government is now sending representatives on a mission to rebuild and reboot their private economy under the pretence of helping the wider population. The Zimbabwe 2016 Rebooting and Rebuilding conference is set to take place in London on the 5th July. Tickets for the conference will set you back a minimum of £630, more if you are not a subscriber to Africa Confidential. At more than twice the average monthly salary of an ordinary Zimbabwean, this price serves as further evidence of the massive social divide in Zimbabwe.
One wonders if those attending the conference, such as Patrick Chinamasa (the minister of finance, aka the accountant of corruption) used bond notes to pay for this trip?
Or maybe they have stuffed seven million US dollars in the boot of the plane, seeing that the tree has never been far from the fallen fruit!! Who knows. Accompanying this criminal is Mike Bimha, minister of industry and commerce, who has sanctioned 15.76 million Zimbabweans by banning imports, yet the only thing he should sanction is the luxury of cakes and big dinner tables from his life. Obert Mpofu the obedient son will be there too. A man who has never done anything for his region except enrich himself, yet another turn coat who is living lavishly at the expense of all Zimbabweans.
We are calling on people from all walks of life to join the protest which we hope will be the genesis of the revolution that will kick ZANU PF out of the State House. The protest has been organised by the Zimbabwe Vigil, and will take place on Tuesday 5th July from 8am onwards, outside DLA Piper UK LLP, 3 Noble Street, London EC2V 7EE.
