ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa has upped his fight as he has turned his guns on the previous administration regarding the debt they left.
When campaigning to be president, Chiyangwa promised to clear the debt which is more than $7 million.
However, the businessman seem to be struggling in that front.
Zifa announced in a statement that they were communicating with the previous leadership, where they are seeking explanations.
A statement from ZIFA read:
Following the commission of inquiry into the state of football at the behest of the Sport and Recreation Commission (SRC), the Dube-led executive committee and its head of secretariat, Jonathanan Mashingaidze is obligated to respond to the commissions' findings.
The commissions' findings were forwarded to the former administrators but they have not yet responded to issues that require their immediate attention.
Dube and fellow executive committee members, Twine Phiri, Fungai Chihuri and John Phiri; together with former Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze are all obliged to explain their part in the accumulation of the US$ 7 million debt in writing to the SRC within the next seven (7) days.
There were alleged shady transactions that were entered into during the period when the individuals concerned were in positions of authority at Zifa, thus, they are answerable for all the financial misdeeds raised by the commission of inquiry.
The previous leadership is also obliged to shed light on alleged deviation from defined organisational policies, explaining why policies were not implemented or adhered to.
Failure to take heed to the final demand for detailed responses to the commission of enquiry's findings will attract punitive measures from the Zifa executive committee.
