Gunning down people, legitimacy and hope, The position of peasants under the 'new dispensation'

Dear Mango News,

I wish to complement the publication of this factual news on the political realities that faced ordinary Zimbabweans after independence and thirty nine years after by Mango. I am relieved that our country personality has grown into somewhere when pursuit of human and people rights may have been rudely taught to us by the failures of political leadership post independence to this very date after 30 July 2018 country elections. I am confident that if we keep this pace in honest reporting without fear or favour, those in pursuit of bustardizing innocent critiques of poor governance and therefore working against public opinion will soon fear and respect people process influencing for good governance procedures and processes.

I believe that of all our people and at each level of our societies none have been as courageous as the rural people who faced abuse, brutalization through force of violence and outright victimization, yet they lived with torment the best way how. The rural people have truly registered their living between the devil and the deep blue sea without making it obvious they no longer had love for Zanu-PF.  It will be naive to the extreme for any of us presenting the rural peace enjoyed peace and we're generally happy mainly during elections seasons in the country. Now that Mango News has gone this far to observe conditions under which peasants lived, I wish to say that I believe I speak for many in our thousands, both those abroad and local Zimbabweans including the international human rights activists, that we today applaud moral courage Mango News has shown and that this generally signals our country has gone and come through ugly patches that no longer can be ignored to repeat such callous human treatments again in any form way and shape by any government and worst of all by Zany-PF under any pretext.

I am sure you are aware that if Mr. Mnanagwa government comes into power after the constitutional court verdict heads will obviously roll at Mango for obviously coming out so objectively against how masses in our country suffered traumatically under watch of Zanu-PF government. In fact the report is an indictment on how Zanu-PF employed every trick away from the spirit of book and law to rig 2018 election in her favour. Truth is Zanu-PF has never admitted any abuse of human rights in Zimbabwe except blame everything on sanctions by the west, support of MDC by Whites in Zimbabwe, and blame any Zimbabwean building opposition as being used by enemies of the government. What has remained uniquely strange in all these fusion of accusation from Zanu-PF against the citizen enemies was that Zanu-PF is, was and will remain her own enemy if she plays ordinary citizens idiots in order to enjoy temporary glory on their account.

The selection of your topic alone opens a new dispensation in Zimbabwean political history and indeed in African Renaissance towards awaking a sleeping democracy. The gestation birth to democratic processes being pursued irrespective of consequences is clearly being hallmarked for an endless journey on the plight of the ordinary by their own governments. Zimbabwe is no exception, more so as we read your well researched evidence on how people were dealt with during the 2018 election.

Thank you for telling the truth Mango News.

Sincerely,

Andrew M Manyevere
