Mobile operator, NetOne has launched the 2015 Easycall Super 8 cup, bankrolled to the tune of US$433 000.
The tournament will see teams that finished in the top eight of the 2014 championship season participating in the football extravaganza that will be held in December.
NetOne CEO, Engineer Reward Kangai said this year's cup will see soccer fans countrywide getting a chance to watch the beautiful game as a incentive for their support of the mobile network.
Premier Soccer League (PSL) Marketing Manager, Rodwell Thabe said the initiative by NetOne is a step in the right direction in ensuring that the game reaches all Zimbabweans.
After the draw conducted in the Harare today (Thursday), Dynamos will play How Mine, ZPC Kariba clash with Chicken Inn, Caps United face Hwange, while FC Platinum take on Highlanders in the quarter-finals.
Winners of the cup will receive US$$80 000, runners-up $50 000, losing semi-finalists US$30 000 each and the losing quarter-finalists US$20 000.
Despite the downsizing by most companies, NetOne says it owes its existence to its clients and that it will persevere with its social corporate responsibility thrust.
