Knowledge Musona has returned to training at FC Augsburg in Germany in a boost for both club and country.

The former Kaizer Chiefs marksman had missed Friday's goalless draw with VfL Wolfsburg against because of an adductor muscle strain but was back on the training ground at the start of the week as his club prepare for their next match in the Bundesliga, German media reports said.

This will come as good news for both his struggling club as well as Zimbabwe, who will hope to have the striker back for their decisive African Nations Cup qualifier against Angola next month.

Musona missed the first leg in Harare earlier this month, which Zimbabwe won 3-1 to set themselves for a possible place in next January's finals in South Africa.

There has been much conjecture around Musona's failure to pitch for the game.

He failed to arrive for the preparations despite the insistence of team manager Nyika Chifumba that was on his way.

Eventually Musona had to explain to journalists he had not left Germany because he had injured himself.

But at the same time it became clear that the Zimbabwe Football Association had been tardy in sending the call-up for Musona to Augsburg and that the club were not intending releasing him because the fax from Harare came outside of the 14 day notice period required by Fifa.

But the 22-year-old forward told reporters he was keen to return for the second leg.

In June, Musona was accused by ZIFA officials of being involved in possible match fixing because he was spotted having a meeting with former ZIFA general secretary Henrietta Rushwaya, who is at the centre of the Asiagate match fixing affair.

Musona threatened to boycott further national team matches unless he received an apology.
