MDC Bulawayo spokesperson Edwin Ndlovu said the party has learnt with shock on the sudden death of Malaba.
"As the MDC family we are saddened by the passing on of our cde and former deputy provincial chairman and councillor Paul Malaba, who passed yesterday at central hospital after a short illness," said Ndlovu.
Ndlovu described Malaba as a committed MDC member.
"We have lost a true patriot and committed cadre. Cde Malaba was also our provincial disciplinary chairman and a lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST).
"As a party we are poorer without him and the loss is not for the Malaba family or clan only but Zimbabwe as whole," Ndlovu said.
