Zanu-PF and MDCs tribal sting: No Ndebeles at Copac now!

IN a clear case of ethnic group sidelining, Zanu-PF and the two Movement for Democratic Change formations have chosen only Shona rapporteurs to do work at Copac.
Our investigations have proved that all the nine rapporteur representatives from all the political formations at Copac are Shona and were forwarded to Copac by secretary generals of the parties working with co-chairpersons.
Zanu's secretary general is Didymus Mutasa and he works with Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana, MDC- T secretary general is Mr Tendai Biti and he works with Doglous Mwonzora whereas the secretary general of MDC led by Professor Welshman Ncube is Priscilla Musihayirabwi Mushonga who works with Edward Mkhosi.
The rapporteurs are currently capturing what 15 lawyers drawn from the three political parties are deliberating on are:
Nixon Chamisa – MDC-T
Sylvester Mutandire – MDC-T
Issabel Mwonzora – MDC-T
Cecillia Chimbiri – MDC
Teresa Marimazhira – MDC
Peter Mukuchamano – MDC
Alice Midzi – Zanu-PF
Varaidzo Marimo – Zanu-PF
Kelvin Manyengavana – Zanu-PF
Interestingly, Nixon Chamisa is the brother of MDC-T national organising secretary Nelson Chamisa whereas Issabel Mwonzora is the daughter of MDC-T's Copac co-chair and Information and Publicity Secretary- Doglous Mwonzora. The rapportuers are working with the 15 lawyers who are referred to as the Technical Committee charged with a duty of selecting "constitutional matters" from what the people said during the outreach program. Copac has finished compiling the national narrative, quantitative and qualitative report of what the people said during the outreach process and drafting of the country's supreme law is expected to start soon.
Civic society activists like Professor Lovemore Madhuku have opposed the Copac led Constitution making process arguing that is it is not inclusive and is impartial.
Copac has denied the allegations and insisted on its work. COPAC is composed of 25 members of the 7th Parliament of Zimbabwe who were selected from the three political parties (MDC T, MDC and Zanu-PF) to spearhead the crafting of a new Constitution. The 25 members are referred to as the Select Committee of Parliament on the new Constitution.
