The MDC led by Welshman Ncube has said a raft of measures announced by Zanu PF government's Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa in the Mid-term budget review statement confirm Zanu PF failure to deliver on its political statements made during 2013 election campaigns.

Party's spokesperson Kurauone Chihwayi said it is now clear that Zanu PF lied about its capacity to create employment and a better economic environment.

"The mid-term budget statement confirms that the Robert Mugabe government is officially broke and has failed to fulfill its promises for 2.2 million jobs. It has also confirmed that President Robert Mugabe has lost grip and control of the corruption that has torn the country apart," he said.

"We have noted with great concern the decision by the Mugabe administration to prematurely dismiss government workers and illegally cut salaries of the already strained civil servants. The decision to push out 25000 workers, close embassies and cut salaries is an act of madness that will trigger violent protests in Zimbabwe."

He said these are reckless policy statements that are adequate to endorse Zanu PF's incapacity to create the promised 2.2 million jobs.

The Zanu PF regime in Zimbabwe should not be allowed anywhere near public funds or public offices until or unless President Mugabe orders the immediate arrest of thieves linked to corrupt activities and confirmed disappearance of the $15 billion dollars realized from secret diamond sales," he said.
