MDC attacks Kasukuwere over local councils

MDC leader Welshman Ncube yesterday blasted Zanu PF national political commissar and Local Government minister Saviour Kasukuwere for using dirty tricks to take over control of opposition-led local authorities through suspending their councillors.

Ncube described Kasukuwere as a Zanu PF blunt instrument deployed to inflict his version of proverbial justice on towns and cities that do not owe their political existence to the ruling Zanu PF party.

He also castigated corrupt tendencies by MDC-T led councils, accusing them of flouting tender procedures and engaging in illicit land deals, among others.

Ncube said through misgovernance by Zanu PF, Bulawayo ended up having a housing backlog of more than 100 000 and massive de-industrialization.
