The ruling Zanu-PF party is reported to be on a massive recruitment drive to rebuild the province towards the 2018 elections.
Reports coming from the province are that the party is strategically fishing for high calibre youthful possible leaders from especially amongst its opposition parties. The party is reported to be targeting the largely unemployed or lowly employed yet highly qualified young men and women in the province offering them "good" employment packages and empowerment projects with a condition of allegiance and loyalty to the party.
The report comes amid yet to be confirmed rumour that a highly placed member of the opposition MDC led by Professor Welshman Ncube in Gwanda maybe making his way to the ruling party anytime soon after being offered a senior job in the public service plus other packs. In the most recent incident, Zanu-PF snatched MDC policy Guru Mr Qhubani Moyo from right under the nose of the ailing opposition party and gave him a job in the Ministry of Information and broadcasting services.
"The economic situation in the country is tough and everyone certainly needs to be gainfully employed and I also need to."
"We all know conditions of service in the civil service and if given such a job everyone is bound to stick to the conditions. I haven't been offered any job but would certainly love to my kids need the money too," said the MDC member.
