A Gweru man who failed to access his salary of $20 lost his temper and struck his part-time employer with a brick which broke his finger.

Kudakwashe Mutezo, 22, of house number 13, Nkenyani Road, Mambo, went on to hit his employer, Clive Scott, 50, three times with a shovel on the left side of his rib cage and shoulder.

The following day he assaulted Scot's son, Dale, 29 with fists and later struck him with a stone on the head.

Mutezo who accused Scott of delaying to pay him yesterday appeared before Gweru magistrate Judith Taruvinga facing two counts of assault.

He pleaded guilty to both counts.

The matter was remanded to Wednesday for judgment.

The State's case as presented by Daniel Tafuma was that on March 15 this year, Mutezo approached Scott of house number 30 Malvern Avenue in Lundi Park in connection with his outstanding payment for a part-time job.

The two failed to agree on the payment and Mutezo ended up hitting Scott with a shovel three times on his left ribs and shoulder.

He went on to strike the complainant with a brick which broke his middle finger.

Mutezo took to his heels and left Scott lying on the ground writhing in agony.

The court heard that Mutezo visited Scott's  homestead the following day in the company of his friends but this time was attended to by Scott's son, Dale.

Dale asked Mutezo the reason behind his visit but got no response save for blows and a stone that hit his head.

The court heard that Dale lost consciousness.

A report was made to the police leading to Mutezo's arrest.
