Zanu-PF First Secretary and President,Robert Mugabe has castigated the America for interfering in Zimbabwe's politics.
Addressing thousands of party supporters gathered at Chinhoyi University of Technology, President Mugabe said: "America should be insane in saying that our elections should not be held because one party wants security reforms. If the term of parliament has expired why should we not hold elections? Such matters cannot stop an electoral process in Zimbabwe. Keep your pink nose to yourself, keep your hands to yourself."
The President said Zimbabwe has welcomed observers from African countries and the African Union and not European Union countries.
Mugabe said the war of liberation was not against white race but the colonial and racist mind-set.
This is why the government offered a hand of reconciliation to the whites who remained in the country.
President Mugabe said the war of liberation was not fought by a group of people but every Zimbabwean as they contributed in different forms that included collaborating, informing, cooking and moral and financial support.
"We used a people-oriented war, the people would cook for the war veterans, the people gave them protection and even gave them directions. So everyone had a hand on the war," said the President.
President Mugabe said Zimbabwe's independence brought about lost dignity to Zimbabweans as they became owners of their own destiny.
He said Zanu-PF party stood by the fact that independence would never be fully realised unless the land is given back to its rightful owners.
He said the United States and British governments reneged on their promise to fund the land reform, triggering the government to embark on the land reform programme.
Mugabe said: "Bush invited me and we asked why they had reneged on their promise, but he said he could not reverse plans by his colleague."
President Mugabe said the western nations later imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe as a direct response to the move aimed at correcting the injustice in land ownership created by the colonial regime.
The President said the western nations withheld financial assistance, and embarked on a regime change agenda by sponsoring the MDC-T party.
"Blair then formed a party, MDC which he would fund. We said Bush why put sanctions on us, we never wronged you? Blair was helping Bush in Iraq and Bush helping Blair in Zimbabwe," said the President.
He called on Zimbabweans to take pride in being Africans, and cherish their heritage and cultural values and the vast natural resources the country is endowed with.
