MDC-T's future hangs in balance

The MDC-T's future hangs in the balance after suffering a heavy loss in the 2013 harmonised elections with observers saying the western funded movement has no future in Zimbabwean politics.
Political analyst, Tafadzwa Mugwadi says the Morgan Tsvangirai led movement is on the verge of total collapse as it fails to provide alternative opposition to Zanu-PF.
The MDC-T leader admitted that things did not go well as the party commemorated its 14th anniversary.
He told supporters at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare that the party intends to reclaim its lost position it ceded to Zanu-PF after suffering a heavy defeat in the harmonised elections held in July this year.
The futility of the MDC-T as a political movement was also mentioned by the head of the SADC Election Observer Mission, Mr Bernard Membe.
While both SADC and the African Union observers passed off the elections as credible, free and fair, observers said this resolution was a wake up call to the MDC-T.
While the party embarked on a wild goose chase in the 2013 polls, observers have noted that failing to provide clear cut policies and a poor leadership are the biggest enemies to the party's survival and at best, the movement is headed for extinction.
