Civil servants have rubbished the online invitation by the MDC-T to engage them in salary discussions, advising the party to use the correct channels if it has any input towards their welfare.
Addressing members of the media soon after striking a salary deal with the government on Monday, Teachers Union of Zimbabwe CEO, Manuel Nyawu said the MDC-T should not seek political relevance by abusing the workers plight.
"We don't want anything to do with the MDC-T. They have failed the workers before and they should not continue to interfere in our negotiating process," he said.
Public Service Association Executive Secretary, Emmanuel Tichareva said the MDC-T should be warned that their welfare as workers should not be politicised.
"We only deal with issues to deal with labour through the proper channels and we do not want to be dragged into political fights. The MDC-T should not seek our audience as a party as we only have the mandate to take the workers' concerns to the government," said Tichareva.
The MDC-T, through the social networks, invited civil servants for talks concerning their salaries and welfare.
