Radio VOP Website Editor, Millie Phiri has called for professionalism at the Radio station and urged correspondents to shun partisan reporting, bias and inaccuracies to ensure credibility.
He urged the radio correspondents to be apolitical and approach stories professionally and objectively at all times", said Phiri in Harare, Tuesday.
Phiri added that correspondents will also start using their bylines; a new feature in this station that will bring more responsible journalism.
Radio VOP website Correspondents are currently not using bylines on stories filed daily mainly because some of them, especially on the political desk, feared for their lives.
Many have been threatened for allegedly propagating stories "denigrating" 87-year-old President Robert Mugabe and his former ruling party, Zanu PF and, instead, "propping up" MDC-T belonging to Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai.
Phiri encouraged website Correspondents to be "fair and accurate" because this made the website look either "good" or "bad' depending on their articles which are now read by more than 3 000 people daily.
Radio VOP Board member, Nhlanhla Ngwenya said he would be "very happy" on the day the Radio Station was voted the best in Zimbabwe. Currently the station is coming second best to Studio Seven (7).
Radio VOP's is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa.
In Zimbabwe the offices were bombed by unknown culprits who have still, however, never been brought to book by the State security agents.
Instead, the State has hauled some Board members, including current Executive Director, John Masuku, to Court.
