A family in Bulawayo is appealing for food donations and financial assistance after they have spent weeks without eating since the lock down started March.

Ozias Ngwenya (33) of 16637, Cowdray park, Bulawayo, said he does part time jobs for living with his wife Immaculate Ndebele (32) at the moment they cannot due to the lock-down.

The family is seeking food donations from well-wishers as they last ate proper meal before the lock down.

"At the moment we do not have any sign of food in the house and I do not know where l am going to get the food from to feed my children. I have four children the eldest in 10 years old whilst the youngest is two months old," he said.

Ngwenya said his wife Ndebele has tried going around asking for food and it was unsuccessful as that will be defying the lockdown.

"My wife and I have tried asking for food donations from our neighbours, friends, some of them have been assisting us but we cannot continue asking from the same people as speak we have nothing to eat in the house," he said.

Ngwenya said he was able to feed his family through the part time jobs that he was doing before the lock-down and with the little money he got.

"We do not know when the lock down is going end as we speak the Covid-19 cases are increasing in the city. If it happens that the lock-down gets extended it means my family and I will be spending more days without food," said Ngwenya.

"We are asking from the people any kind of donations it can be food or money for assistance at least we can buy basics like mealie meal and other food items," he said.

He can be contacted on 0713 562 767 or 0774 968 216.
