Chief Ndiweni pledges to campaign for Mnangagwa's reforms

Nhlambabaloyi Chief Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni has urged the government to explain clearly to the citizens the kind of reforms that they are pursuing so that the people may support them.

Ndiweni who was responding to Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information Nick Mangwana  who had posted an article where a Senior World Bank Official was quoted saying  President Emmerson Mnangagwa must continue with the reforms.

"I am 100% sure people would all rally behind the reforms if they just knew what they where and the expected results it would help people brace for tough times ahead in expectation of Canan. I would personally lead a campaign to educate people on the reforms in my area." Ndiweni said

The article which was published by New Zimbabwe quoted one Stella Ilieva who acknowledged the existence of social problems created by the ongoing reforms but maintained it was the only solution to save the country.

"Poverty and food insecurity has increased in the country and currently two thirds of the population are in need of food aid. At the same time rural poverty has worsened and the austerity measures are affecting the plight of the poor.

"However it remains important to realign the economy on a stability trajectory and the administration must forcefully continue with the implementation policies aimed to achieve the much needed stability," Illieva was quoted saying
