Government should introduce cadre deployment to ensure party policies are implemented, Zanu-PF deputy secretary for Youth Affairs Lewis Matutu has said.

Speaking at a Press briefing in Harare, Matutu said Government should adopt what other developed countries such as China are doing. "The Chinese government has adopted cadre deployment which is meant to ensure all party policies are implemented in Government.

"We should practice what is known as cadre deployment. People in key positions in Government be it directors, permanent secretaries, principal directors and other key positions like boards of parastatals. They must be deployed by the ruling party.

"They must be people who understand Zanu-PF policies. Who have gone through the Zanu-PF manifesto and understand what Zanu-PF is looking forward to in terms of implementation of those policies," he said.

He said civil servants and those employed in parastatals cannot claim that they are apolitical while working for a Zanu-PF Government.

"We have people who would say that they are apolitical. They say that they do not want to have anything to do with Zanu-PF. We do not see them where policy issues are discussed in Zanu-PF, but they are working for the Zanu-PF Government.

"It is time for those people to resign because they are a danger to the vision of our President. They are an impediment to the expectations of the people who voted for the Zanu-PF manifesto.

"It is time for such characters to shape up or ship out. This is the position, our political Commissar Victor Matemadanda has always been talking about it, but it is taking time to enforce and make sure that whoever occupies a Government position who does not believe in Zanu-PF leaves that position because we will need to explain certain things come 2023 in terms of what we would have achieved on our 2018 election promises," he added.
