Revered economic analyst, Brighton Musonza, has said the return of the Zimbabwean dollar (ZWL$) has sent economic arrivalists such as Tendai Biti cracking with no technical argument against it.

Musonza also said that the arrival of the ZWL$ officially marked the death of the political reform song which he dismissed as a tired old recycled argument that has gone septic.

In a series of hard-hitting statements, Musonza said that "ahead of the arrival of new ZWL$ notes today, you can tell the usual suspects are cracking. They will not have a technical economic argument against it. Just the usual bitterness and self-hate. Alongside them will be development economists struggling to cope with classic economics."

Musonza further said with the return of the ZWL$, "the banking sector will be on the drive with lending and innovation. We will see Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) revival of credit instruments like higher-purchase schemes on locally produced consumer goods spurring production output. Local Authorities at some point will borrow in the markets."

Musonza also decried that some local journalists who write for local and foreign media were denouncing the return of the ZWL$.
