BREAKING: Air Force to take over Harare airport.
26 Nov 2019 at 09:14hrs | Views

Reports coming from Harare indicate that members of the Air Force of Zimbabwe are moving in to take over the Robert Mugabe International airport after the air traffic controllers downed tools on Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday morning the Zimbabwe airspace was closed and all flights scheduled to fly in and out of the country were grounded.
The said move by the air force has fueled speculations that there might be a more political and sinister agenda behind the said strike and closure of the airspace.
Former Zimbabwe Independent Editor Dumisani Muleya said, "Why are planes not flying in Zimbabwe today? Told there will be no departures and arrivals both in and out. Those already flying inside stopped in the middle of their flights. Why is the airspace now closed? Is it a technical, security or political problem? What's going on?"
Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe is yet to issue a statement on the matter.

No, its because of issue with air traffic controllers. Civil aviation failed to bring in a new shift, the ones manning the tower had done their recommended 12 hr shift but had no crew to takeover from them.Senior managers had to get into the tower to resume flights. https://t.co/795ND05lDi
