Professor Jonathan Moyo has alleged that oil tycoon Kuda Tagwirei has put aside US$2.4 million to bribe the Supreme judge Justice Pardington Garwe to draft a judgment that is favorable to Thokozani Khupe in a matter where Khupe and Nelson Chamisa are battling for the control of MDC.

Writing in a Twitter thread on Saturday morning Moyo said, "One momentous development this February is that Kuda Tagwirei has been plotting, with hypocrites who have maliciously alleged G40 links with Chamisa, to use USD 2,4m to buy the Supreme Court judgment for Thokozani Kupe in her case against Chamisa to control the MDC!"

Moyo alleged that Tagwire's team have been besieging the court daily asking for the judgment.

"Kuda Tagwirei has been scandalously pledging to use cartel money "to compromise" Justice Garwe, whom they say is allegedly drafting the judgment in the Kupe case. A well-known co-conspirator in the matter has been calling the Supreme Court daily, asking for the judgment!"

In 2019 the Supreme Court reserved judgment in a case where Khupe and Chamisa are battling for control of the main opposition MDC.

During the hearing, Khupe had urged the court to rule in her favour and allow for the holding of the congress, which is supposed to be held in accordance with the party's constitution.
