Woman gets protection order against abusive hubby

A wife of a businessman in Bulawayo has been granted a protection order against his husband whom she accused of physically abusing her.

Talent Mbengo filed an application for a protection order against her husband Eria Mbengo at the Bulawayo magistrate Court.

The two are Core-directors of Hoguil Manufacturing Private Limited Company.

Bulawayo magistrate Nomasiko Ndlovu presided over the case and granted  the application.

In her founding affidavit, Talent said was married to Mbengo for 14 years and Mbengo of late has been abusive to her and children.

"My life and that of the children is not at peace as he always harasses us. He physically abuses children and deprives them of their basic needs. Our children are now highly traumatized," Talent said.

Opposing the application Mbengo denied the claims saying the applicant was misleading the court and is tarnishing his name for no apparent reason.

"I am shocked when an applicant is fabricating the allegations against me. Applicant seems to have a second thought of our marriage," he said.

Mbengo said he does not remember the time he sexually abused his wife as she claimed.

Mbengop and his wife are core directors of Hoguil Manufacturing (PVT) Ltd a company with eight subsidiaries.

He prayed for the dismissal of the application.
