Health Minister Obadiah Moyo who was arrested Friday for charges related to criminal abuse of office has arrived at the Harare Magistrates' Courts, chauffeur-driven in a silver Ford Ranger with a convoy of five top-of-the-range vehicles.

The Minister is expected to appear in court at 1315hrs.

On Saturday morning Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption posted a tweet saying it, "confirms the arrest of the Minister of Health and Child Care Obadiah Moyo on allegations of criminal abuse of duty related to the procurement of COVID 19 drugs. He is going to appear in court today. As ZACC we continue to say REFUSE, RESIST AND REPORT CORRUPTION."

Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa urged Ministers to follow the rule of law.

"The case of Dr Obadiah Moyo shows that our Ministers do not learn. In that position, it's important that one does things in black and white. Just follow the law and not be swerved into shady deals by the compulsion of being close to power. It will come back to haunt you." Said Mliswa.

Secretary for Information Nick Mangwana said the arrest of Minister Moyo showed that President Emmerson Mnangagwa was serious with fighting corruption.

"The biggest mistake I can ever make as a Public Officer is to doubt President Mnangagwa's commitment to fighting graft. He has made it clear to us that we are not immune from prosecution and nobody will be insulated from having their day in court."
