A love triangle has turned into a criminal investigation after a jilted lover reportedly exposed an affair and implicated his former partner in a real estate fraud case worth about US$40,000.
Rosati Herman Imran (47) called Simbarashe Sanyanga (45), the husband of his former lover Edelyn Sanyanga (46), to reveal that he was having an adulterous relationship with her. During the call, Imran also accused Edelyn of selling a residential stand in Damafalls behind her husband's back.
According to police, Edelyn allegedly sold the property for US$40,000 to Keith Tafadzwa Katewera, who reportedly made a deposit of US$10,000. Simbarashe, who had been out of the country, contacted authorities in Damafalls to verify the transaction and was informed that the stand had indeed been sold.
Following the revelation, Edelyn reportedly disappeared, aware that Imran had disclosed both the affair and the property sale.
Harare police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed that a fraud investigation is underway. "Police are investigating a fraud case involving a woman and her husband, with a total value of US$40,000. The accused person is yet to be arrested," he said.
Authorities are continuing their inquiries as the search for Edelyn Sanyanga and the investigation into the alleged property fraud remain ongoing.
