The former daughter-in-law of late Transport Minister Biggie Matiza, Annalisa Muguwe (29), appeared in court on Thursday facing allegations of breaching a protection order.

Muguwe was arraigned before Harare magistrate Mr Kudzanai Kapurura, charged with violating a court-issued protection order. She pleaded not guilty, and the matter was postponed to March 17 for trial commencement.

The complainant is her ex-husband, Batsirai Matiza (29).

According to the State, on February 14, 2025, Muguwe was granted a protection order by Magistrate Mashawakure at the Harare Civil Court. The order barred her from insulting or assaulting Mr Matiza.

Prosecutors allege that in January 2026, Muguwe breached the order by sending text messages to her ex-husband and attempting to contact him multiple times. She is also accused of stalking Mr Matiza's brother.

The alleged violations were reported to Rhodesville Police Station, leading to Muguwe's arrest. The case is set to continue on March 17.
