The youthful past teens boy was a prospective husband for many area damsels who looked at him with a beckoning heartbeat. He was a role model for multitudes in Manhenga area of Bindura.

As he matured into a heavily muscled man, he lost his marbles or so it seemed. The guy started pointing at no one and spoke loudly to no one. What was happening to our 'be mine' youth? Area elders were confused, angry and at wits end as what to do.

Events that followed were not amusing, the guy stopped bathing, did not change clothes  and finally became violent. Travellers took detours to avoid meeting the guy who was now unpredictable.

Pentecostal seers and bearded cult leaders were consulted, even sangomas were given a slot. Surprise, surprise, the guy was said to have beaten his mother and verbally humiliated his father.

Remember our God is faithful to the end. The Most High said 'Honour your parents', the first commandment with a promise. Reward is not from the parents but the Almighty God. Even punishment and chastisement is not from parents but the Creator of Heaven and earth including the seas.

By order of things elders inclusive of parents are dying people. Let us run the race to the end and lift the trophy with Lord Jesus, King of Kings.

Any person in the age group bracket of parents is your parent please honour them. The pitiful youth is now a shadow of himself, angry at no one and without contentment.

Honour your parents, thus says the Lord.
