Backlash over reopening of markets

Mnangagwa's decision to reopen the farm produce markets and financial institutions for diaspora remittances could come at a cost after it emerged that social distancing required to curb the spread of COVID-19 was not being observed.

Mnangagwa's 21-day national lockdown that also ordered the closure of the markets started on Monday last week, but on Friday that same week, government ordered that they become operational, but observing social distancing rules, to allow people to access food.
