Our tobacco crop is signed by the sun

There is a conspiracy theory that keep wafting about despite efforts to muzzle and smoother it. Zimbabwe's tobacco and oranges are 'signed by the sun' hence no matter the appearances the taste is greatest.

Our climate tend to bring out the best the two products have to offer, call it nature's delight.

The tobacco crop may deputise in height to that of Brazil, courtesy of copious rains in that country but when it comes to the smoke flavour, our tobacco is top drawer material.

Now, why is the Zimbabwean tobacco farmer sobbing and sniffing over LOW PRICES at the tobacco auction floors?

Our detractors are alleged to be working overtime to frustrate the tobacco farmer and help sway the powerful (rural vote) come national elections.

The rural vote is the backbone and spine of the ruling revolutionary party, all weather supporters who saw it all and bore the brunt of the liberation war.

So the conspiracy theory lives on, the tobacco selling prices by all pointers seem manipulated by a powerful clique.

The poor farmer will point accusingly at government blaming it for doing nothing in the face of poor prices despite delivering a good quality crop with the greatest taste potential.

Oranges from Zimbabwe are said to be unique in taste no wonder our trademark Mazoe Orange Crush has the world nodding in agreement.

I am planting tobacco, meet you at the auction floor.
