Reigning League champions F.C Platinum are well prepared for the CAF Championship tournament according to the club's chairperson Evans Mtombeni.

Platinum were on Wednesday drawn into a group that comprises eight time winners and Egyptian giants Al Ahly, Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia and Al Hilal of Sudan.

On paper, Platinum seem to be the weakest team in the group but Mtombeni is not letting that get into his way of progressing to the quarterfinals, "F.C Platinum is very prepared to compete in the group stages, with the hardwork and zeal shown by our players, the technical team and all the stockholders we stand a chance of bettering our CAF performance to the last edition."

It is now the fourth appearance of the club in the continental tourney, last year Platinum only managed to reach the group stages something which Platinum want to change in this edition of the CAF championship tourney.

Regardless, Platinum are also chasing another League title and they are currently sitting on third position, five points from log leaders CAPS United.

It is likely going to be a tough road for the new head coach of Platinum, Lizwe Sweswe balancing the League and the continental tourney.

On the other hand, the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs will see Triangle United taking on FC Nouadhibou of Mauritania with the first leg commencing on the 27th of this month and the return leg on the third of November in Zimbabwe.
