President Emmerson Mnangagwa intervened in the matter involving the issuing of Turkish based Zimbabwe Warriors player Teenage Hadebe with a passport so that he could return to his base.

Hadebe (24) had been stuck in Zimbabwe for more than a week as he was supposed to have flown to Turkey last Wednesday after playing for the Warriors in the 2021 AFCON qualifier against Zambia in Lusaka.

He was forced to fly back to Zimbabwe to get a new passport after running into trouble with Zambian immigration officials who initially barred him from entering Lusaka.

Turkish outfit Yeni Malatyaspor where Hadebe plies his trade were reportedly contemplating terminating his contract in the event he failed to fly out of the country by Tuesday.

Responding to a report by BBC that Hadebe was stuck in Zimbabwe because government was failing to print new passports, Charamba said the issue had been resolved.

"Now water under the bridge. A more alert Zimbabwean drew this problem to our Office in the morning and the matter was resolved through Youth Ministry and ZIFA. A mere storm in a teacup! We wish the footballer God's speed and a successful career as he flies Zimbabwe flag abroad," said Charamba.
