'Zimbabwe to honour agreements with China,' says Mugabe

President Robert Mugabe, who is in China for a week long state visit, has assured Chinese investors that his government will always render them the necessary support and will not renege on agreements entered into.

President Mugabe made the remarks after touring the headquarters of an ICT company called Inspur.

The company specialises in customised information technology solutions for different sectors such as taxation, education, immigration and science and technology, among others.

Mugabe, who was accompanied by the Chinese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Zimbabwe delegation comprising seven cabinet ministers who sit in the Zimbabwe-China Joint Permanent Commission, senior government officials, Zimbabwe's Ambassador to China, Fredrick Shava, China's Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Lin Lin and NetOne CEO, Mr Reward Kangai, among others, was shown different services and products offered by the company which include cloud computing.

During the tour, President Mugabe was shown a video news clip aired by the national broadcaster, ZBC TV when Inspur signed a $5 million Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education.

After the tour, Mugabe was presented with 200 state of the art laptops by Inspur Vice Presiden, Mr Sun Pisure.

The company, which is operating in several African countries, has established a high performance computers (HPC) centre in Harare, which is offering latest technology like cloud computing.
