Nando's Bulawayo readies to re-open?

THERE seems to be activity at the Nando's Bulawayo outlet that collapsed in February this year as contractors have been spotted working on the structure, whetting the appetite of the city's foodies after months of inactivity.
Most foodies had been affected by Nando's closure as it was the only one in the city with the nearest from Bulawayo being in Kwekwe after the Gweru restaurant closed shop.
When the building collapsed, one person died while four were injured and thereafter, the building was immediately sealed off.
A visit to the building showed builders working on the roofing of the establishment, repairing roof trusses and other pillars.
Those from surrounding buildings said they had seen the builders working throughout the Heroes' holiday.
"It looks like they're running against scheduled time to open," said one business owner who declined to be named.
In May, foodies said they missed buying meals at the famous establishment and were eagerly waiting for it to be reopened.
Efforts to get a comment from Simbisa Brands, the proprietors of the establishment, were fruitless as their numbers went unanswered.
