Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer, Nissan Motor Company Limited (Nissan), has expressed interest to grow its market share in Zimbabwe despite the country's deteriorating economic conditions.
The company's sub-Sahara Africa general manager sales and operations, Liz Segal, said Zimbabwe was strategic to Nissan's growth on the continent.
Nissan currently has a 33,5% market share in Zimbabwe due to its strong partnership with AMC Motors, Amtec Motors, Croco Nissan and Nissan Clover Leaf Motors.
Segal noted that Nissan has a 50-year plus presence in Zimbabwe - dating back to Datsun Rhodesia. From the information gathered from the dealer council, to date the country has seen sales of 831 single cabs.
